• Certification Details
• Traveler must present ACLS, BLS, PALS, and other certifications on their first day if applicable.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, Chemo certified APHON, TNCC preferred but not required
• License Verification must be done within 30 days of start date

  • RN MUST HAVE CA LICENSE IN HAND OR PENDING WITH ETAs of when it will post
  • Traveler must be willing to get flu shot when requested - required during fall/winter season
  • Requested Time Off: Max 6 days
  • Holiday Requirements: Thanksgiving and New Year's RTO accepted depending on the dates
  • No RTO surrounding Christmas as they need the coverage but the clinic is closed on the actual holiday 12/25)
  • Unit Summary: Patient Population: Average 60 to 80 patients per day. Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
  • Oncology: neuroblastoma, anemia, leukemia/lymphoma, solid tumor, brain tumor.
  • Hematology: hemophilia/ITP/sickle cell anemia.
  • Skills: IV therapy, sedation recovery for lumbar puncture and bone marrow aspirate procedures/ central lines, administration of blood products, biologics and chemotherapeutic agents.
  • The entire cancer and blood disorders center, including the Viterbi Outpatient Clinic, is housed at our incredible Acute Care Pavilion. There are 38 private rooms and advanced high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration, helping to reduce the risk of infection.

    • CA RN License
    • 3 years of pediatric hem/onc inpatient or outpatient experience - children's hospital experience preferred but not required
    • Central Line experience and IV start
    • BLS (AHA)
    • PALS (AHA)
    • APHON
      • Schedule Information
      • Shift: 4x10 Days with varied start times (Mon-Sat - varied start times, but mostly 0800 and 0900)

        • Unit: Pediatric hematology/oncology
          • Additional Details
          • Valid photo ID is required. Must have front and back copies. Traveler must present on their first day.
          • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) - All RNs must pass a medication calculation test
          • RN Medication Calculation Exam - 100% score required to pass
          • Orientation Information - Credentials and documentation required on the first day
